My client is seeking a results-driven Vice President of Artificial Intelligence to lead the execution of AI initiatives across the business. This role is highly execution-focused and centered on turning prioritized business use cases into scalable, secure, and measurable AI solutions.
Rather than defining AI vision or strategy, this position is responsible for making AI work in practice—delivering initiatives on time, within budget, and aligned to clear business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a pragmatic mindset, avoids hype-driven technology decisions, and focuses on practical, incremental progress that drives real value.
What You’ll Do
Execute prioritized AI initiatives by translating business needs into practical, scalable solutions
Maintain an enterprise-wide inventory of AI use cases, including scorecards tracking performance, impact, and maturity
Partner with business units to define KPIs and measure ROI for AI initiatives (e.g., cost savings, revenue growth, process optimization)
Lead AI governance and compliance efforts to ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and ethical standards
Drive hands-on implementation of AI use cases, collaborating closely with business and technical teams
Work with architecture and infrastructure teams to integrate AI solutions into existing systems, cloud environments, and data pipelines
Evaluate emerging AI technologies and trends while maintaining a disciplined focus on prioritized business problems
Develop and support buy-versus-build recommendations for AI solutions, grounded in data and practical considerations
Deliver AI initiatives incrementally, starting with pilots and scaling successful solutions without over-engineering
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
8+ years of experience in IT or technology leadership, including at least 3 years managing AI/ML initiatives
Proven ability to deliver technology projects aligned with business objectives and measurable ROI
Strong understanding of AI/ML platforms, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and data pipelines
Excellent project and program management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
Ability to translate business challenges into right-sized technical solutions
Strong communication skills and comfort working with non-technical stakeholders
Pragmatic, outcome-focused mindset with an emphasis on incremental progress over trend-driven solutions
Industry experience in highly regulated environments is a plus
