Position Summary
The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing detailed electrical estimates and supporting the successful transition of awarded projects from pre-construction to field execution. This role serves as a critical link between estimating and operations, ensuring scope clarity, accurate job setup, and early coordination.


Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Pre-construction

  • Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial projects, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and scope analysis from drawings and specifications
  • Review bid documents, addenda, and RFP requirements
  • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, clarifications, and value-engineering opportunities
  • Participate in bid reviews and pricing strategy discussions

Project Coordination & Job Turnover

  • Assist with project handoff from estimating to operations
  • Prepare job turnover packages, including budgets, scope clarifications, and assumptions
  • Help set up projects in project management software (e.g., Procore)
  • Coordinate early procurement and identify long-lead items

Operations & Field Support

  • Serve as a technical and scope resource for project managers, superintendents, and foremen
  • Assist with early RFIs and design clarifications
  • Attend project kickoff and coordination meetings as needed
  • Support labor planning by communicating estimated production assumptions

Qualifications
Required

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical estimating or coordination
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems and the NEC
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with estimating software, Excel, and project management platforms
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with Procore or a similar construction management software
